Bow Wow Beauty

Roisin O’Hara from Dungiven decided to open her own Dog Grooming business in January 2015, trading as Bow Wow Beauty. Just over 1 year on business is booming and Roisin states she could not be happier with her decision to open her own business.

Growing up on a farm on the outskirts of Dungiven, Co.Derry it has always been Roisin O’Hara’s passion to work with animals especially dogs.

Roisin attended St. Patricks College, Maghera and studied A-Levels. At that time she was torn between a career as a veterinary nurse or an accountant. She decided to study accounts and often wondered if she made the right decision.

Each year Roisin attended the Belfast Dog Show which led her to complete a City & Guilds Course in Dog Grooming. She also made the journey to Liverpool to watcvh Cesar Milan, The Dog Whisper, a well renowned dog trainer.

Now that she is 30 years old; married with 2 children and lives in the country she felt the opportunity had presented itself for her to follow her passion which was to set-up her own business working from home. Roisin heard about the Regional Start Programme and contacted Roe Valley Enterprises Ltd to find out more. Roisin attended a meeting at Roe Valley Enterprises in August 2014 with Business Advisor Ryan, where work began on creating a tailored business plan for Roisin’s business idea. Subsequently Roisin went on to open her own dog grooming business in January 2015, namely Bow Wow Beauty.

At Bow Wow Beauty Roisin has pledged to take extreme care of animals that come onto her premises, making sure all their needs are taken care of. All breeds will be catered for in a caring, pleasant environment providing a quality professional service.
